On March 31st, 2022, I was performing too with my band Yard Of Blondes at the Peppermint but I couldn't take pictures while performing. Duh! :) So you're only gonna see performance pictures from S8nt Elektric, Velvet Starlings, and Slaves to Humanity. But that's ok because they killed it. They might be very young (the majority of the people in those bands are minors so they couldn't be in the venue while they were not performing) but they know how to produce a good and rocking performance with lots of technicity. Those bands are different yet it's a pleasure to see them performing on the same bill. I discovered Velvet Starlings for this occasion and it was a very nice surprise. They channel some UK 60's psychedelia and have managed to craft an electrifying performance drenched in a garage-oriented sound. It doesn't seem forced, I think they might be time travelers. I knew the other two bands because we interviewed them on this podcast but I had yet to see them live. I wasn't disappointed as both bands delivered a solid performance. They fulfill what I expected from them and I'm interested in seeing how they are going to evolve and if they're going to be able to join forces to help their new little scene emerge.
Fortunately, I could snap some quick portraits of some of my bandmates (Fanny and Burak - Sorry Forrest) backstage too. All pictures are taken on my Contax T2 with some Kodak Tri X 400 film. Home developed.
